Finished Another Job

Just finished up another job. The Last Nativity is is a short story written by Steve Kanaras, art by Matt Ryan, and I finished it up with colors and letters. The Last Nativity is a 8-page short story that will be appearing in a upcoming issue of Star Police Chronicles. The Last Nativity is done in a style reminiscent of EC Comics from the 40's and 50's. I even stuck with the same limited color palette, simulated the halftone screen, and used a font similar to their lettering.

Logo Making Process

I got a new logo gig, so I figured I'd make a series of posts breaking down the design process. The logo is for the cover of Worst Case Scenario: Outbreak, a new anthology from Guild Works Publications. As you can see the book will be all Zombie stories and art. My next post will feature design roughs for the logo.

Worlds Beyond

Wow, it's be a while since an update.

Latest thing.

Comicbook Artists' Guild has given me their latest endeavor. Worlds Beyond is a collection of Si-Fi short stories. I'm currently in the middle of production and should be done by mid-week.

Working On Hell's Blood Layout

Just putting the finishing touches on Hell's Blood 2. Hell's Blood is put out by Guild Works Publications. GWP was founded by Keith Murphey and Hector Rodrigues, together they are the main force behind Hell's Blood. I will be getting the book ready and off to the printer.

Sent 3 Books to Print This Week

Put the finishing touches on three books this week and sent them off to print. Only in Whispers #2, Sky Pirates of Valendor: Valendor Chronicles,and Bigger #10. All will be back in time for the ConnectiCon at the end of the month.

Finished Another

Hooray, Lettering is done on another issue of Sky Pirates. This is their largest endeavor yet. An anthology book over 48 pages with lots of art, stories, prose, and history. See more of Sky Pirates.

Working with Comic Pages

I figured I'd start off by showing my typical setup for when I want to get some work done. Here is a screen shot of my 2-panel side-by-side setup. Mostly the work gets done in the main screen and I reserve the right side for libraries and work folders. I use mostly InDesign when lettering comic pages. Currently onscreen is a page from a story called Kokopelli appearing in the latest issue of the anthology book Only in Whispers.
